Good news for Wix users: Wix has a built-in cookie consent tool and an Accessibility Wizard — two of the hardest compliance areas to solve on other platforms. The main challenge is product-level GPSR information, which requires manual setup.

Add manufacturer information to product pages
GPSR requires manufacturer name, postal address, and an electronic contact method on every product page. Wix doesn't have a dedicated field for this, so the cleanest solution is to add an "Additional Info" accordion section below the product description.
How to do it: In the Wix Editor, click on a product page and add a new section below the product details. Use an accordion or collapsible section labelled "Manufacturer Information" with the required details. You can also add a "Safety Information" section for any product-specific warnings.
Add product reference numbers
Each product needs a visible identifier. In Wix, use the SKU field — it appears on product pages by default in most Wix Stores themes. If you need more flexibility, use Additional Info sections.
How to do it: Go to your Wix Dashboard → Catalog → Products → select a product → scroll to "Details" and fill in the SKU field. If SKU isn't visible on your product page, edit the product page template in the Wix Editor to display the product SKU element.
Create and link required legal pages
Wix has a built-in Legal Pages section with templates for Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Refund Policy. These templates are a starting point — review and customise them for GPSR and GDPR compliance.
How to do it: Go to Settings → Legal Pages in your Wix dashboard to access the templates. After publishing, go to your footer in the Wix Editor and add footer links to Privacy Policy, Terms, and Refund Policy. Wix's Wix Privacy Policy app can also help with GDPR consent management.
Enable GDPR-compliant cookie consent
Wix provides a built-in cookie consent solution under Settings → Cookies. It blocks non-essential cookies (analytics, advertising) before consent. This covers your GDPR obligation for cookie consent.
How to do it: In Settings → Cookies, enable the Cookie Consent bar and configure it to require opt-in before loading any non-essential scripts. Set the consent type to "Opt-in" (not "Opt-out") for EU visitors. Review which Wix apps and custom scripts are loading to ensure nothing bypasses the consent gate.
Add safety warnings for regulated products
If you sell products that require safety warnings (chemicals, electronics, toys, cosmetics), these must appear on product pages in the buyer's language. Add them to the product description or a dedicated "Safety Information" section.
How to do it: For multilingual Wix stores using Wix Multilingual, make sure safety information is translated for each language. Go to Settings → Multilingual and use the translation editor to add safety content per language. Untranslated content means non-compliant pages in those markets.
Use Wix Accessibility Wizard for EAA compliance
The European Accessibility Act requires WCAG 2.1 AA compliance from June 28, 2025. Wix includes an Accessibility Wizard that scans your site and provides guided fixes for common issues.
How to do it: In the Wix Editor, go to Tools → Accessibility Wizard. It checks for missing alt text, keyboard navigation issues, and contrast problems. Complete all high-priority fixes first. For contrast issues, use Wix's color picker which now shows a contrast ratio indicator. Remember to also check your store pages (product listing, product detail, cart, checkout) — these are often missed.
